In a news statement, Nissan, in conjunction and in accordance with the standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), announced that their 2011 Rogue vehicles may have bad power steering due to incorrectly installed electronics, prompting a recall of these vehicles. This defect may cause failure of the electric power steering (EPS) systems. Approximately 7,365 cars are included in this recall. During production, the electric power steering (EPS) circuit board was installed improperly, which may place additional strain on the board’s soldered electronic connections, causing them to overheat and potentially fail. Owners are being instructed to take their vehicle to a local dealership where mechanics will inspect and, if necessary, replace the EPS control unit for free.

As a Tacoma personal injury attorney, I know the challenges that manufacturers face when producing quality products for their customers. That said, I’ve also witnessed this sort of recall many times in the past and understand the injuries that can come of the use of defective auto parts. If you have sustained an injury in an accident that you think was the result of a defective auto product, consult a personal injury lawyer in your town to discuss the possible legal options open to you.

In a news release, Toys Distribution Inc, in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced that they are recalling baby rattles manufactured in China. The rattles were recalled because they can break in to small pieces which may pose a choking hazard to children. Besides this defect, the size of the handle on some of the rattles is small and can enter in to infant’s mouth, which may also pose a choking hazard or result in bruises and lacerations. Consumers are being urged to take the recalled rattles away from children at once and to return them to the place of purchase or contact Toys Distribution Inc to receive a full refund or replacement product.

As a Bellingham personal injury lawyer, I have a good deal of experience with similar product recalls that I’ve seen in the past and I understand the devastating injuries that can result from the use of a defective or poorly designed product. If you or your child has suffered an injury through the normal use of a defective product, speak with a personal injury lawyer in your area to learn more about your rights as a consumer.

In a press release, Arctic Cat Inc, in cooperation with and in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), announced the voluntary recall of about 7,100 units of Arctic Cat Snowmobiles manufactured by Arctic Cat. The recall was initiated after the company found that the head lamp fuse could fail, potentially disorienting the operator during periods of limited visibility. This poses a crash hazard to consumers. Owners are being advised to stop using these snowmobiles and contact their local Arctic Cat Snowmobiles dealer for a free inspection and repair.
